We provide event lighting for weddings, backyard parties, graduations, company events, holiday parties, fundraisers and community gatherings across Chester County and the Main Line. Tell us the date, the place and the feel you are after, and we plan the lights, put them up before the event and take them down afterward.
At heart, event lighting comes down to two things: warm light over the spaces where people gather, eat and talk, plus enough light on the paths so nobody trips on the way to the car. That can mean rows of string or bistro lights overhead, a few lit trees, and lights along walkways. Simple, but it changes how a yard or a hall feels after the sun goes down.
Lighting is one of those jobs that is easy to underestimate until you are on a ladder the morning of your daughter's graduation party. Hand it to us and spend that morning on the hundred other things the day needs. The quote is free, and the lights are ours, so there is nothing to buy.
Lighting for Every Kind of Event
No two events ask for quite the same lighting. Here is how lighting works for some common kinds of event.
Wedding lighting
For a wedding, the lighting carries a lot of the mood in the photos and in the hours after dinner. Bistro lights strung over a reception lawn or a patio give that soft glow people picture when they think of an outdoor wedding. Lit trees around the edges frame the space, and lights along the path from the ceremony to the reception guide guests without a single sign. Rehearsal dinners and engagement parties get the same care on a smaller scale.
Party lighting: backyard, birthday and graduation parties
A backyard party that runs past sunset needs light, and the porch fixture is never enough. Party lighting over a deck, a patio or a stretch of lawn turns the yard into a room. Graduation parties, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and summer cookouts all fit here. Tell us where the tables, the food and the music will be, and the lights are planned to match.
Corporate and company events
Company picnics, client evenings, open houses and year-end gatherings all look more finished with good lighting. For a business, it is also about how the place reads to guests arriving after dark: a lit entrance and walkway says welcome before anyone says a word. If you want the business lit for the whole season rather than one night, see our commercial holiday lighting service.
Holiday parties, fundraisers and community events
A holiday party at home, a school or church fundraiser, a neighborhood block party or a community gathering on a green can all use the same tools: lines of lights overhead, lit trees and lit paths. For a holiday party at home, you can pair one night of event lighting with having the house lit for the season through our Christmas light installation service.
Outdoor and Indoor Event Lighting
Where the event happens shapes almost every decision about the lights. These points apply to most events in general, and we talk through the specifics of yours when we quote.
Outdoor event string lights
Outdoor event string lights need something to hang from. Over a lawn or patio that might be the house, a garage, a fence, mature trees or posts already on the property. The distance between those points decides how the lines run, whether straight across, in a zig-zag or fanned out from one center point. Outdoors you also plan for weather, for where guests walk, and for keeping cords out of the way so nobody catches a foot on one.
Indoor event lighting
Barns, halls, community rooms and large living spaces can all be lit with string lights inside. The main question indoors is what the venue allows. Many venues have rules about what can be attached to beams, walls or ceilings, and some keep a list of approved vendors. It helps to check with your venue coordinator early and send us whatever they tell you.
Trees and pathways
Wrapping the trunks or branches of a few trees adds depth around the edges of an event and draws the eye out into the yard. Lit pathways do the practical work: they show guests the way from the parking area to the party, to the restrooms and back to their cars at the end of the night.
Planning Your Event Lighting
A good lighting plan starts with a few plain questions. When you call or fill in the form, here is what we will ask about:
- The date and the timing. The event date, when guests arrive, and when you need the space cleared afterward. This sets when we put the lights up and when we take them down.
- The venue. A home, a farm, a hall, a business or a public space. If it is a rented venue, we will ask about their rules and who our contact there is.
- Power access. Where the outlets are and how far they sit from where the lights need to go. Every site is different, so this is a question we ask on every quote rather than something we can assume.
- The layout. Where the tables, the dance area, the food and the walkways will be. A rough sketch or a few phone photos help a lot.
- The look. Warm and soft, bright and festive, or something in between. Photos of lighting you like are the fastest way to get there.
Call as early as you can once your date is set; earlier bookings have more dates to choose from. Call (610) 819-5409 or send us your event details for a free quote.
Our Lights, for Your Night
Event lighting uses our lights. We bring them, hang them, take them down afterward and they leave with us.
Nothing to buy or store
You get the look for the night without boxes of lights to find a home for afterward. This suits weddings, fundraisers, company events and any party that happens once.
Want lights that stay?
If you would like the house lit after the party too, for any occasion and in any color, our permanent lighting stays up along the trim all year and runs from an app.
Setup Before, Takedown After
We put the lights up ahead of the event so everything is hung and switched on before your first guest pulls in. You do not need to find helpers, rent a ladder or untangle anything the day before. Afterward, we come back and take it all down. Setup and takedown times are agreed with you when you book.
We cover events across Chester County, the Main Line and nearby Delaware and Montgomery County towns, roughly 30 miles around Malvern. See the full list of towns on our service areas page.
